My Angel and Friend

by Smile

I never thought that I would find
a friend so great and a friend so kind
I look up to you in every way
'cause I learn something from you every day.

Without you I don't know where I'd be
but you're still here, friends with me
you deserve so much more than I can give
but without you I wouldn't live.

You've given me more than money can buy
and for you I'd give my all and I would die
This feeling I feel gets stronger every day
hoping not to screw it up, I constantly pray.

I know we have our problems every now and then
but once it's fixed our friendship is better times ten
and I want you to know that I truly do care
even in fights when I say things that aren't fair.

You're an angel from God up above
and I'm thankful for your understanding love
because when you're around everything seems right
and for you, until the end, I will fight.

It doesn't matter what you do or say
because you'll be my friend anyway
I know the real you that's down deep inside
and in you, I'll always confide.

Thanks for being the friend you are
you're my best friend, an angel by far
everything in you is an inspiration to do great
and you'll be loved by all cause that's your fate!

So never stop being the real and wonderful you
cause God shines through in all that you do
and whenever it seems like I'm never there
remember this: I love you and I'll always care!

i just want to share this poem as i was so touched when i read it myself...the poet expressed her gratefulness to a friend she cannot live without, one whom she considers her angel because she found hope in her when she was hopeless. she said, not all angels wear wings nor reside in heaven...I too have found my angel...

● The structure for me is darkness and light because there’s a friend has encountered trials and difficulties in life but through an angel friend, who always to lean on and give lightness to her at the end. And she is also thankful for that.
13. Point out examples of metaphor, simile, personification, and metonymy and explain their appropriateness.

● Hyperbole- “You’re given more than money can buy”
I choose this as a hyperbole it’s given me exaggerated to read or express the feelings of a friend. And its symbolizes presence or comfort of an angel friend who’s always there to help her every now and then.
● Hyperbole- “I’d give my all, And I would die”
It symbolizes the gratefulness and sincere of a friend that is willing to sacrifice everything. And it is so exaggerated to hear practically now in real life.
● Irony- “Thanks for being a friend you are”
The function of that phrase is to let the reader or audience to realize the value or essence of a real true friend.

I really love the poem, it is about being full of gratitude to her/his wonderful best friend. When I read it and pondered, I imagined myself as the one who addresses this poem to my best friend.
Exactly, a wonderful best friend can be compared to an angel, who helping me to be happy and appreciate the goodness of life.

1. The speaker could be myself. The speaker is a full of gratitude for her best friend.
2. Yes, She is a wonderful best friend that can be compared to an angel.
3. It can be to a birthday.
4. Main part of the party
5. It will be a garden party
6. The central purpose of the poem is that, we can say that there is an angel in our day today, it is not those they are everywhere but we can't see; instead they are our best friend that can be considered as a living angel.
7. Best friends can be compared to an angel for giving hope when I was hopeless, and always there for me. It didn't matter to me what others thought of her, because she was my friend and that's all that mattered.
8. The tone of the poem really came from the heart and it really expressed how she was blessed to have a wonderful best friend by expressing her gratitude of love.
9. Sometimes we come across people in our lives who we simply can't live without. Life would be incomplete without the presence of your best friend. Always say thank you and love your best friend.
10.Best friends are treasures and it will help to comfort you in times of difficulties.

=THEIR appropriateness is when a speaker write this poem for a special purpose. Her special purpose is to thank her friend for being there at her side when she was down and lonely.

The poem does not tell us about the gender of the profile of the speaker. However we may say that the speaker is already a mature person able to decipher thoughts and interpret emotion. The audience is if of great importance to the speaker. The audience is addressed in the second person point of view. No special occasion is presented in the story. The speaker merely expresses his/her thoughts to the audience. It might be an event of single occurrence. There is no particular setting in time used in the story. But we may say that the event happens at once.. There is no particular setting in place. The central purpose of the poem, concerning the speaker is to express the feeling gratefulness to the audience. On the other hand the speaker immortalizes his/her emotion towards the person addressed by writing it down into a poem. A friend gives one special kind of happiness. The tone of the poems is mirthful. This is achieved by the use of adjectives that have positive denotations. The poem uses light mood words. The words angel, wonderful, and inspiration are well chosen words. They contribute to the positive effects of the poem. The term "You're an angel from GOD above" is an example of metaphor. It is appropriately used for it describes the qualities of the person the pom is all about. The angel symbolizes the person whom the poem pertains to. The line " For you I'd give my all and I would die" might be an overstatement. It makes the poem moving and appealing in the pail of the audience.

. The speaker of the poem is the narrator who really appreciates and treasures the beauty of friendship; not with what we have but of whom we are.
2. Yes, there is in which the audience is the narrator’s best friend.
3. The occasion is in friendship day. It may also happen of a friend celebrating her birthday by writing this poem in a card.
4. Summer is the setting in time where sunset.
5. The setting in place is outdoor in which it is under the tree.
6. The central purpose of the poem is to inform that friendship is one of the most beautiful relations of all. It is a divine blessing of God. Life with friends becomes an easy going journey that you would never like to get over with. Each day spent with them is to be cherished in a different way even if some days bring lot of misunderstandings or fights. But whatever it is, friendship is an old book, while turning its pages you go through a lot of mixed feelings realizing that even after sharing the best and the worst you are still together.
7. Friends are great creature from God. Indeed truly great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave, and impossible to forget.

Three friends are too many to stay in your lifetime. Thus, we must know how to value our friends. The words that have been used in the poem are not that to deep. It should contain colourful words so that the reader and the listener will find it an interesting one.

1. The speaker was a person who had a friend.
2. Yes, the audience was the speaker’s best friend.
3. Best Friend’s Day
4. Present time
5. In their hangout place
6. Friendship
7. True friends are hard to find, so if you found one be thankful and don’t let them go, value them and give them importance, they are priceless.
8. The tone is happy. It can be achieved successfully especially when readers already have friends.
9. -------------
10. -------------
11. The diction of the poem are not that perfect because some words are not appropriately used but there are still some words that are particularly fitted to what really the speaker means. For example, “a friend so great and a friend so kind” where I think everyone would really consider every friend as a kind one.
12. The imagery used in the poem was visual imagery since the speaker seemed to see his best friend as his angel.
13. “you're my best friend, an angel by far”, these line is an example of metaphor which the speaker was denoting an angel as his best friend.
14. The angel symbolizes the character of the speaker’s best friend. It is an allegorical poem because from the title itself it shows how the speakers best friend was describe or represented by an angel.
15. “but without you I wouldn't live.” These line is an example of an overstatement because a person can still live without a best friend. It is very impossible if you will die if you don’t have a best friend.
